Last night Maria went to bed by 7pm. At 9pm she yelled, so I went back and she was burning up. The odd thing is that her torso was hot, but not her extremities or head, but as time went on (10 min or so), her head, hands, and feet were also hot. Her temp was about 102.5. I called the Blue Cross nurse line and she basically said to call back if it got worse. Maria was stiff and jerky, clearly uncomfortable from being so hot, but she was drinking like crazy! In 2 hours she had 2 bottles and I changed her diaper about 3 or 4 times! So at least she knew she needed to flush her system.
At 11pm she yelled again. I went in there and this time she’d vomited and had a big stinky poop (hope you’re not eating as you read this…), so I got her all cleaned up and she slept for the rest of the night. Her temp was down about a degree by then and she didn’t seem so agitated. She slept until 9am.
This morning when she got up, she was smiley and fine. When we all thought about it, we think she was just ridding her body of toxins as a result of her Jin Shin Jyutsu appointment Saturday morning. We hadn’t been there in a month. Debbie said the session went really well and she was able to do some flows she hadn’t done before, like a stomach flow, which helps you digest your thoughts and get rid of bad thoughts. Strange, I know, but it makes sense. Let’s just hope next week is better than last week! Tomorrow we go see the neurologist. We’ll see what he has to say about this seizure business.
Found your blog via Google search regarding flash fevers. It’s good to hear your daughter is feeling better. I’m sure the neurologist and other doctors can provide some insight to any long-term serious issues.
You should be aware, if no one’s come forth to bluntly tell you the truth before, that Jin Shin Jyutsu does not release toxins. There is no chi. No stomach flow. There are no biophysical life-energies or other such nonsense. It’s a waste of your money if you’re paying for health benefits because you will never get any from mystical newage mumbo jumbo that has no one iota of data supporting it in an entire century of medical testing. That’s why it requires believe (read: gullibility).
Please don’t be offended; it’s not my intention. Ignore the truth if you like, but it will remain such. Any path you choose, best wishes!
Thanks for the kind words about my daughter.
No offense taken by your comments, actually they made me giggle. If we hadn’t experienced what we’ve experienced over the past year of getting the Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments, I would think it was bullshit also. We have experienced solid, tangible results on more than one occasion as a direct result of the treatments. They’re not that expensive and they work for us!
Have a wonderful day and I hope you find/found your answers on the flash fever you were looking for!
ReaderX, I appreciate your input about Jin Shin Jyutsu but to immediately dismiss all “mystical newage mumbo jumbo” without research is just as gullible as embracing it all.
Maria’s mom and I are not ignorant or easily fooled people. We are both intelligent and have college degrees, her in science and I in engineering. We do our homework and approach these treatments with skepticism, me in particular. Honestly, I can’t discuss Jin Shin Jyutsu without cracking up because it all sounds so silly. However the effects on Maria have been both immediate and frequent and there is absolutely no question they are a result of these treatments. I don’t understand how it really works but to dismiss the evidence because it doesn’t fit your world view is naive.
Unless you can point me to the clinical study which disproves Jin Shin Jyutsu, your assumption that it is a sham (which is based on no personal experience or evidence) hardly qualifies as the “truth”. You’re opinion is just that – opinion. While we respect it, our direct and skeptical observation disputes it.
There are more things in heaven and earth, ReaderX, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
