Hi Nikki – I don’t know if you got my email or not. Didn’t hear back from you, but we went to the movie anyway. Don’t know if you read what I said about it.–wish there’d been more advertisements about it and more face time with the Dave Matthews Band, rather than those other 2 bands. Other than that, a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning!

I stumbled on your site tonight. (added adaptivemall.com as a friend on facebook). I think your mom is also a fan and she had posted a link to your blog. I am in tears, I have a 5 yr old that has been through many of the same things and LOOKS very similar to your Maria. And until a few weeks ago had the same hair! We use the same stroller and have had almost identical issues with illness this fall. I too have been looking into getting a trike for our little girl. I am so excited that you are well on your way to reaching your goal! Thank you for allowing your blog to be public. Sometimes I feel alone and that no one knows what I go through, even though I am constantly surrounded by children with disabilities. Thank you for sharing your story!

Thanks Amit, for the tip. We will try green tea next time Maria gets any chalazion(s?). Did you ever try a green tea compress? I’ve heard putting tea bags on your eyes decreases swelling (e.g. in the morning, from fluid retention), perhaps if it was green tea, it would help the chalazion?? Glad it worked for you and I appreciate your description of how it feels. Since my daughter isn’t verbal, it’s only a guess as to how miserable she is. Fortunately, she’s been chalazion-free for maybe a year or more?

ReaderX, I appreciate your input about Jin Shin Jyutsu but to immediately dismiss all “mystical newage mumbo jumbo” without research is just as gullible as embracing it all.

Maria’s mom and I are not ignorant or easily fooled people. We are both intelligent and have college degrees, her in science and I in engineering. We do our homework and approach these treatments with skepticism, me in particular. Honestly, I can’t discuss Jin Shin Jyutsu without cracking up because it all sounds so silly. However the effects on Maria have been both immediate and frequent and there is absolutely no question they are a result of these treatments. I don’t understand how it really works but to dismiss the evidence because it doesn’t fit your world view is naive.

Unless you can point me to the clinical study which disproves Jin Shin Jyutsu, your assumption that it is a sham (which is based on no personal experience or evidence) hardly qualifies as the “truth”. You’re opinion is just that – opinion. While we respect it, our direct and skeptical observation disputes it.

There are more things in heaven and earth, ReaderX, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

No offense taken by your comments, actually they made me giggle. If we hadn’t experienced what we’ve experienced over the past year of getting the Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments, I would think it was bullshit also. We have experienced solid, tangible results on more than one occasion as a direct result of the treatments. They’re not that expensive and they work for us!
