During our computer cleanup extravaganza they deleted a lot of stuff, including Maria’s blog address. I looked on the internet and this is the closest I’ve come, but they don’t give out the address. So you can send me instructions on how to reconnect.

Thanks for your input, Jo. I decided to call gastro to talk it over with them and they kindly made an appt for us in Sept, kinda missing the point that it’s now that we need it…. I’ll talk to her ortho surgeon Tuesday and see what he thinks. I appreciate what you’ve said. The 4 of us adults who care for Maria have finally come over to the side that it’s not failure, it’s about Maria’s health…I was definitely the strongest anti-Gtube…I’ll keep you posted.

I would go for the g tube. Like you, I fought and fought for years, I couldn’t bring myself to face the “failure” the g tube meant to me. I had heard from other g tube moms, “my only regret is not doing it sooner.” It was such a relief to not worry myself sick about what he was getting or not getting. and once we got through the learning curve, it hasn’t been a big deal. We are very glad we did it! Good luck!

Hello T, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check it out. I don’t think it will work for Maria because she has cortical visual impairment and doesn’t often look directly at things. Also, some days she uses her vision, and other days you would think she was blind. But I will look it up and see if it might be something to pursue. Let us know if you have any other good ideas!
